Figgate Park

Figgate Park can usually be depended on to be the best park in Edinburgh for seeing birds, but today we didn't see as many as we normally would. We still had a lovely walk though.

It was quite windy as you can see from the way the branches are getting blown around in this willow tree

There were a few ducks on the pond, though not as many as usual. Crafty Green Boyfriend caught this male mallard as it was dabbling for food

while in the trees these carrion crows shared a romantic moment

That willow tree is so beautiful, and that picture of the mallard bobbing for food is priceless!

Unfortunately, Josephine interrupted a...um...romantic moment this afternoon for a pair of mourning doves. Hope they found another tree! Always love a duck but -and weeping willows.

"All along the backwaters
Through the rushes tall,
Ducks go a dabbling,
Up tails all!"

That came into my head when I saw your upturned duck but I can`t remember who wrote it!

Willows look so graceful as they are just breaking leaf.

Gotta love a duck's bum :D It's autumn here in Australia in the sub-tropics and it's hotter today than it was most of the summer!

I love the willow trees! The butt shots are funny! Looks like a pretty spot for a walk and to see birds. Have a happy week ahead!
