Workshops and Courses

City of Edinburgh Council Adult Education programme

You can access and book the whole range of Edinburgh Council adult education classes here.

I regularly run creative writing classes and guided walks as part of this programme, but only generally use social media to advertise the ones that don't sell out really quickly!

I am now the tutor for the Southside Community Centre Writing Room on Friday mornings. There's currently a (fairly long) waiting list for this class, but if you're interested in joining let me know and I can add you to the list.

I also regularly facilitate workshops for Outlook (City of Edinburgh's mental health community education project). These have included creative writing courses, guided walks and online jewellery making workshops.

Past Workshops

I've facilitated 'creative writing inspired by nature workshops' for a range of organisations including Connecting Craigmillar (as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival), Gorgie City Farm, Sharing Secrets Festival (Dalry Primary School), Vogrie Country Park and University of Edinburgh Continuing Education Programme.

I've lead guided nature walks for various organisations including the Woodland Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and Friends of Saughton Park.

I'm available on a freelance basis to offer guided nature walks and outdoor workshops on creative writing, particularly poetry or writing inspired by nature. I can also offer workshops on making your work more enviromentally friendly. Email Juliet.M.WilsonATgmailDOTcom for more information.

Prices for a two hour workshop generally start at £150 for community groups and small charities, £250 for larger charities and small businesses, and £500 for commercial organisations.

Poetry Readings

I've given public readings of my poetry and short stories including at Meadows Festival, Silencio, Kin, Ten Red, Edinburgh International Book Festival and during my time as poet in residence at the Forest Cafe. Please contact me (Juliet.M.WilsonATgmailDOTcom) if you're looking for an environmentally engaged poet!
