Bridge to the Galleries

There are lots of characterful bridges along the Water of Leith. This one take you to the stairs up to the Gallery of Modern Art (which has wonderful art exhibitions and a lovely cafe, which serves delicious cakes.) I took this photo a couple of days ago, there were blue tits playing in the cherry blossom trees and several orange tip butterflies flying around. It's also apparently a really good place to see kingfishers, though I've never seen one here!

Oh, that looks (and sounds) wonderful. I really must find this walk next time we're over your way.

I like the arch on the other side, it's very welcoming, you can actually see the lettering more easily in the reflection. I would love to walk around here.

the water is so still underneath. I like the idea of taking this bridge to a cafe with delicious cakes....

Beautiful, just beautiful. I can't wait to see your video haiku...sounds great. I think they might pair nicely with the bird footage, actually...

Spring is in the picture!

I've walked many bridges
To get from here to there.

Sometimes here is better,
sometimes it is there.

But this bridge that goes to the cake
Is the one that I'ld prefer!

Yay, more Hornbeams that are accessible on your previous post. Next time I'm in Scotland I'll have to check out this Water of Leith...so many interesting features!

Looks like a beautiful place to walk and to be able to see the birds about.
Spring must be lovely there.

Happy Easter
