Winter Sunrise, Edinburgh

A winter bus ride
along Princes Street
the castle backdropped
by the glow of sunrise
colours that deepen
and spread behind the Galleries
on the Mound; sparkle
the frost on Salisbury Crags
under a sky patchworked
by pink lace clouds

A small moment of life framed with clarity.

For some reason the first line and its indication of movement adds to the rhythm of the poem. Lovely.
