haiku for 30 Days Wild

(goldcrests have a very high pitched song, which you can't hear if your hearing is fading)

I am waiting for a copy of Basho's "The Narrow Road to the Deep North" to arrive. I will be digging more into haiku then. I became interested in the book after reading Richard Flannigan's book by the same title, which is about Austrailian POWs working on the Burma railroad in WW2--he brings in a lot of literary references as he explores what makes someone good and kind and also allows them to be cruel and indifferent.

Haiku does have a way to capture the essence of nature.
