Hermitage of Braid
Beautiful weather today for a wander round Blackford Pond and the Hermitage of Braid.
Lovely to see the swan family (with a total of six cygnets) on the Pond.
Lovely also to see the autumn colours coming in against the wonderfully blue sky
We were delighted to see these beautiful porcelain fungi on a fallen log over the river
Still plenty of hoverflies around, including this (what I think is a Meliscaeva cinctella) on the Michelmas daises
Luckily we got our walk in this morning as this afternoon is cloudy and much cooler!

Oh such a pretty time. Quite grey and gloomy here in the Pacific NW!
It is beautiful, the landscape is adorement and the mushies, really excellent.
Wow, that porcelain fungi is gorgeous!
And since we seem to be giving international weather reports, crystal clear with a breeze that has Josephine all excited as she dashes to and fro in the yard. (Now I sound like the weatherman who pronounced the 58 letter Welsh town the other week - LOL!)

I love the porcelain fungi :) This is a great collection of photos.
This time of year is generally wonderful for walking, when the heat eases up. There's a feeling of renewal in autumn too for me, not just in spring.
