Rabbits' Guy commented recently asking for more photos of the Water of Leith, I assume he means of the river itself, as I post photos from Colinton Dell regularly. So yesterday I took some river pics for Rabbits Guy.
All these were taken around Colinton weir. You can see that autumn is already starting to show in the leaves!

such pretty greenery!
Some beautiful pictures indeed. I bet the sound of that water is mesmerizing.
Hi Juliet,
I like your photos. And I always enjoy the name Water of Leith. It sounds charming. Here it would probably be just Leith River.
Hi Juliet,
Looks like a beautiful tranquil place to visit. Yes, if we are starting to see signs of Spring it will be doing the reverse over where you are.
Happy week
hugs
Carolyn
Beautiful. It's always so soothing to be around water. I've noticed the leaves around here beginning to change, too. Autumn is the best time of year. Love the crisp nights.
I really enjoy your pictures of Water of Leith. I visited Edinburgh and can't believe I missed all this beauty. For some reason tour groups think castles and shopping are more important.
Thank you! A pretty stream indeed. Around here, in the Pacific NW, that sort of stream, with all the stream-side shade and habitat for bugs and such, would be very good for young salmon and trout looking for cool, oxygen-rich places with plenty of food as they grow big enough to head out to sea!
Texwis - thanks, yes it's very pretty
Optimistic - yes the water sounds wonderful,
Maureen - leith is actually an ancient word that means Water!
Carolyn - I always like to see your blogposts about your seasons....
Karen - I ove autumn too
almtsbb - the Water of Leith isn't even well known by people who live in Edinburgh.... sorry you didn't get to see it when you were here
Rabbits Guy - trout in the Water of Leith but no salmon, there are too many weirs

Cool, in several senses. My thanks to you on this hot September day. And to Rabbits' Guy for making the suggestion.
