Lovely, what is that lumpy, bumpy sort of ground cover? is it trimmed to be like that or is just individual plants forming mounds?

I'd be in seventh heaven in that garden! Love the ground cover too. Do you know what it is?
Some of the bonsai look to be very old and priceless. What a beautiful place. Fantastic photos Juliet.

Scot - they are aren't they?
egretsnest - it is wonderful...
d.moll, janice - its a type of plant that grows in mounds, I had mis-heard the name and when I searched on that name it turned out to be something else so I don't know what it is...

I absolutely love this moss garden. The bonsai is enhansed with the moss as a backdrop.

No wonder I can't grow moss. It is so hot and humid here. It gets so dry during summer too.

I love this place. Is that a type of moss? It is really beautiful. I am forever moving moss around my garden trying to get it to grow in different places.

Janice - I also meant to say - some of these bonsai are priceless prizewinning trees - the one in the garden by itself is 140 years old i think!

Beautiful photographs! I'm always so intrigued by bonsai -- they're like magical windows into miniature worlds. When I was younger (much), I used to imagine seeing tiny faeries living in them.

The moss garden is a fantastic idea, and completely new to me.
