This morning we had to take our adorable rabbit, Anya, to the vet to be put down. She has never had the best of health and on Fridayt we discovered she had a huge tumour in her chest. We were then to take it on a week by week basis, as that day she was still lively and happy. Sadly by Saturday she was lethargic and could no longer eat or drink. She was a lovely house pet, sweet and affectionate, lively and funny. We'll miss her.
My condolences. Losing a pet is always hard, but at least we can treat them with dignity and respect and guide them "home" when they are suffering.
I am sorry for your loss. Pets are very hard to lose. Esp something as adorable as a bunny. Glad you did the right thing.
Sorry to hear! She sure was a cute bunny. Animals are wonderful - are you going to get another one?
Thanks for the visit last week, by the way - sorry I didn't make it back by here until now :)
...i'm sorry about anya...
I don’t know you or Anya, but I’ve been reading your blog recently, as a fellow house-rabbit person who is moving to Edinburgh next month, and I was genuinely saddened to hear of the demise of your poor bunster. We’ve been so lucky with our bunny — she’s had no health problems at all in the eighteen months she’s been with us — and we know we’ll be absolutely devastated when she dies. So huge condolences from a fellow lagophile …
Thanks for your condolences everyone. Anya was much loved and we miss her, but she had a very happy life, despite her health problems!
Hanulf - not sure whether we'll get another, not for a while anyway...
Golebnik - I saw the photos of your bunny, she's lovely, much bigger than Anya. Good to hear she's not had any health problems! Good luck with your move to Edinburgh!
I'm sorry to hear about your bunny....
My rabbit; Truffles, and I send our condolences from Los Angeles, USA.
Anya was gorgeous and I was blessed to be loved by you. I am sure she is thankful.
So sorry to hear about Anya.
