I recently made this needle case and it's now in my Crafty Green Poet Etsy shop - you can see it here.
I made the cover of the case from blue grey velvet lined with a blue fabric patterned with a geometric design. The front of the case is embellished with a pale blue fabric flower. The case has 4 pages of pale orange felt and has a press-stud fastener for closure with a small pale blue pom-pom as embellishment.
All fabric and embellishments come from my stash of scrap fabrics or from second hand shops.

You do good work and it's great to find a beautiful use for those scrap materials (which, when used in this way, certainly don't look like leftovers.) I have done (American) crosswords all my life and an old-fashioned word that used to appear in them quite often was "etui" which, the clue always said, meant "needle case." I have never been a seamstress, so I'd never heard of the word and never seen one, but I think after looking at this post I now have!
Lovely colour coordination here, CGP! And a great use for the material. How interesting to learn the word 'etui' from Sallie's comment. Oh, and by the way, the lovely blue cutlery bag you made me some years ago is still going strong ... and joined me on my Norfolk holiday in June!
Hi Sallie, thanks, this fabric is lovely, and I was pleased to be able to find a use for the scraps. I didn't know the word etui, thanks for sharing that.
Hi Caroline, glad that your cutlery bag is still going strong!
