Some photos from recent walks

I took time away from blogging and social media over the Christmas period. Crafty Green Boyfriend and I went on some lovely walks and here are some photos from those walks.

We had a lovely walk round Grange Cemetery where we saw a good number of hibernating ladybirds, including this group of two spot ladybirds and pine ladybirds who had found a cosy little spot

You can see more of my photos from Grange Cemetery here.

We visited Edinburgh Botanic Gardens, where we noticed a good amount of fungi, including this hairy stereum

and this purple disc fungus
and we visited Duddingston Cemetery, which I'll blog about separately in the near future, but we were struck by the beauty of the skeleton trees against the moody sky.

I think winter skeleton trees are so beautiful and create such a different picture - yes it is lovely when they burst into bud but we should all appreciate them in their skeletal beauty.
