I took these photos the weekend before last at Blackford Pond.
I don't tend to photograph birds, preferring to enjoy the moment than obsess over focus. However, big waterbirds like swans are easy to photo!

I love photographing only some bird species, herring gulls in paricular, on the beach and along the Venetian canals. I enjoy their gaze, iron-like, and the red spot on the yellow beak. And the fact that the young, still with brown spots and a brown beak, are for some time bigger than the adults, the same that happens to some, or all, species of penguins.
Your photos of the swans are brilliant, the water in particular.

Lovely birds Juliet..I keep a camera in my pocket in case an opportunity presents itself..but I have never seen a swan...beautiful...Michelle
They may be "easy to photo" but it's still nice to see them. I have not seen a mute swan in the flesh (feather?) for a couple of years!
