Corstorphine Hill
The weather was very changeable today, with gusting winds and intermittent heavy rain showers. We managed to avoid the worst of it when we walked round Corstorphine Hill.

Plenty of fungi around, I think this is Hairy Stereum
and Corstorphine Tower (built in 1871 to
commemorate the centenary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott) is always impressive

Snow drops always so encouraging to see! Nothing here from the 1870's except a couple of very little log cabins!
Ah, snowdrops. We have nothing of the sort yet with the east coast being alternately in and out of the clutches of "the polar vortex." I stayed up 28 hours two weeks ago keeping the fire in the fireplace going just to keep things from freezing.
I take great comfort in that the Spring Festival is going on right now. Come-on Spring!!

Walter Scott's memorial seems to have weathered time well. And those snowdrops are so delicate and pretty.
How delightful to see snowdrops. We still have snow and lots of it. It will be months yet before we see flowers.

So lovely! We have snowdrops here too. Must get to Scotland this year to see some of these wonders for myself.
