haiku - compare and contrast

stone glows bright
in the hour before sunset -
black sky behind.

I've posted another compare and contrast haiku on my Alter Ego blog here.

Hi Juliet,

I apologize for the spamlike comment, but I’m soliciting submissions for the Ringing of the Bards poetry blog carnival, August 11th.
If you are interested, you can find more details at my blog.

All poems are welcome, but I'm highlighting religious and spiritual poetry this month.

Whether you submit or not, please come by and visit the carnival!

nicely done! I like the low light of the sun.

Crafty, do you happen to know an old friend of mine, Ewan Aitken (he lived for a year in Buffalo NY back around 1990). Last year in a Christmas card he mentioned his involvment in politics in Edinburgh, I've tried to find an email for him but can't seem to find one, but from my search, it looks like he's had a tough year politically. You can reply either in my blog or to sagecoveredhills [at] gmail.com

Hmmm. I don't think I've ever written haiku I don't even know the rules. After reading this I think I shall have to go exploring to learn more. Where does one learn more?

I think you "got" the prompt much better than I did this week! This is just lovely, as always.

Juliet,
I love early morning and the last rays of evening. They create the most dramatic scenes.

Hmm. Okay, I see what you mean that my poem isn't a true haiku.

I've got a lot to learn... but I'm willing to.

Thanks for the quick lesson!
