Revisiting St Cuthbert's Kirkyard

 I'm continuing my work of surveying the wildlife in the cemeteries managed by Edinburgh Council. Today I paid a third and final visit to St Cuthbert's Kirkyard, in the heart of the city. 

 

This is the cemetery I selected as the representative of city centre cemeteries to be given extra surveys.

The lime trees are beautifully in bloom now (this photo comes from outside the cemetery, the lime flowers in the cemetery were too high to get good photos of)

The roses were also smelling nice too

 The kirkyard has a number of benches and it was nice to sit and watch the insects flying around. Most of the bees and hoverflies were moving too quickly for decent photos, so all I can really share is this photo of a small flower beetle in an Ox Eye Daisy! 

The leaves of one of the sycamore trees were covered in aphids, as is often the case with sycamores!
