RIP Humphrey

I was saddened to read that Humphrey, the rabbit at Cottontails Baby recently died.

Humphrey recently won the competition on this blog to find a bunny star for a short story I was writing (which is currently looking to be published). The story will be incorporated into the novel I'm currently working on too, where Humphrey will star alongside Sydney and Tyler from The Qi Papers who won the starring roles in my novel. (By the way, this isn't a children's novel about talking rabbits, it's a novel set in an island community in a future independent (and much flooded) Scotland. Many of the characters keep rabbits both to eat and as pets. The star rabbits are (obviously) pets.)

Humphrey will be much missed by all the bunny bloggers who enjoyed reading about his adventures as a shop assistant rabbit.

Very sad, Juliet, but at least he will live on through your stories. :)

Dear Juliet - thank you so very much for writing about Humphrey. And I mean both writing here and the brilliant short story. I miss him so much, it really hurts. But time is a healer I know. It's been a month now. It is absolutely not the same here without a little bunny hopping around, trying to nibble things... But how amazing it is that you, and others, are still thinking of him. Thank you, thank you, thank you. There will be another rescue bunny when the time is right too... maybe new year.

Cannot wait to read more of your stuff.

I read your poetry the night we moved here by the way, I was in such a state - tired and emotional - and it was the perfect thing.

Here's hoping the book will be available on Kindle! It's sad that Humphrey is gone.

Oh, what sad news indeed ... but what a silver lining to think that Humphrey's story will live on and inspire many.

That is sad news. On the bright side, he does live on in your stories.
