Festival of the Trees is up

The latest Festival of the Trees is up at Exploring the World of Trees. You can browse it here. It includes Gordon Mason's poem L'Etang, Mougins, which featured on Bolts of Silk in August.

Hope you are well. My new semester in school starts tomorrow (ugh!)- the end of summer is nigh.

Oh I envy you seeing Leonard Cohen! I wonder if he's playing the states..? I'll have to look into it.

That is a beautiful poem, Juliet. Wonderfully made and precise and moving. The line 'waterfalls down her spine' has a magical effect, it creates an event in the readers mind beyond the mere meaning of the words. I was manipulated in a sense, haha. Fantastic poem.

All for trees and Trees for all!!!!

Our big tree planting celebrations are in April, but there are planting work parties all Fall and again in early Spring.

We live in an area half way between Vancouver, BC and Seattle, Wa. and everyone is doing all we can to preserve the natural lands and get more trees along the waterways to help the fish.

Tremendous pressure to build houses and stores.
