spring haiku

dew covered fields -
a stoat in ermine
bounces past

putting words
to the chaffinch's song -
ginger beer

the second of these was previously published in Blithe Spirit, the journal of the British Haiku Society

It was wonderful, indeed, Jinksy and quite a surprise!

I'm always learning something here. I never had heard of a "stoat". Now I know a good bit about them - cute, but rather effective in bringing dinner home, too!

Lovely haiku!

Hi there - thanks for the visit to my 'wordy blog' - glad you liked it.

The last poem is splendid - the rhythms of bird song are always fun to play with.
