haiku

grey clouds -
the black-white flash
of gulls

previously published in Blithe Spirit, the journal of the British Haiku Society
I've got two haiku in the current issue of Blithe Spirit too, I'll post them in due course! I've also had a haiku accepted for publication in Wisteria.

Nice, I love the sort of distilled quality of Haiku; say more with less....Do you count syllables? How does it work...

Lovely! The flash is especially nice -- I was expecting it to be lightning -- I was glad it was gulls! :)

Rather a lot of grey clouds today. A seagull swooped down in my garden this evening and carried off a whole cheese roll! x

Wonderful about Wisteria Juliet!
Another lovely haiku - love the use of the word 'flash' :)

'flash' is a great choice here, it emphasizes the 'aha' moment.
congrats on the publications

Well captured image. Are you sure it wasn't UFO?..

D Moll - thanks, I count syllables yes but I use the 5-7-5 model as an upper limit rather than a strict rule.

Glad you all like the flash!

Ricardas - definitely gulls, not a UFo but sometimes the birds do look very strange...
