sleep soundly -
woken gently by birds
singing dawn chorus.

all day
walking along the river -
good night's sleep.

Your blog has gone green! Two very good sleeping poems. The second one reminds me of my grandsons at day's end.

"Singing dawn chorus" was a very lovely line and what a terrific way to sleep deep.

I can't believe it has been so long that I missed the change in your blog design. I like it. The photos of the walk are beautiful. I would sleep easily after that.

I especially love your second poem. It makes me think of my children and myself. A hard day's "work" -- whatever it is -- makes for good sleep.

I love these! They say so much, so simply. I have been covering my head with my pillow due to the loud bird song in the morning...maybe I should get up and meditate instead ;-)

Juliet,
Refreshing outdoor exercise along a scenic byway to bring pleasant exhaustion to the bed and awakening to the natural music of the birds. It really doesn't get more perfect. ;-)

I especially liked being woken gently by birds singing at dawn. I'm usually up around dawn and look forward to such a chorus.
