Willow catkins

The catkins of the pussy willow also known as goat willow (Salix caprea) are beautiful at the moment. These are on a tree by the side of Musselburgh Boating Pond.

We are still away from catkins here. I just looked to see when I took a photo of them last year. We still have lots of snow from the last nor'easter, and very cold temperatures.
