One of my haiku can be found today on Leave Only Footprints.

Ughhh .. not a pretty picture! But maybe it was cropped and is out of context.

We are fortunate here to have active efforts to keep plastic out of the sea .. although much more needs to be done.

A great haiku! How frightening to think of the ocean as an urban pond... urrrgh, my spine shakes...

Have you seen this video, about the sheer concentration of plastic in the Northern Pacific? (Toxic Garbage Island Part 10 I read somewhere that the whirlpool of plastic is like a giant beast, which from time to time rises up and spits on the beaches of Hawaii...

Very powerful Juliet.
How awful the reality of this verse.

HI Rabbits Guy - it really is that bad in some places, eg the Garbage Patch that Antoine mentions.

Antoine I've not seen that video but I have seen a documentary about it and several photos, it is just terrifying that we're letting that happen. The impact on the wildlife is heartbreaking

I agree with Janice - a powerful haiku there. Well done.
