Deer

misty hills -
two deer motionless
in a field

***********************************
I wrote this haiku a while ago after seeing deer from a train window somewhere between Edinburgh and Glasgow. A week or so ago, i saw more deer, from a train window along the same route. You can read about those deer here on A handful of Stones.

we see deer about every evening when we pull into the driveway--
standing
looking at us, never moving and it never ceases to amaze me.

Now that is something I would love to see. Gorgeous haiku.

Love the stillness that both the mist and deer evoke. Wonderful haiku!

Deer are nice, except when they wander into the garden and eat everything we've planted.

Agreed with "art and poetry". It really does. Here in the city, we don't see deer that often, but they venture near the freeway near my house sometimes.

So beautiful. Reminds me of all the morning nature walks I took while camping... I need to get back into writing haiku, I miss it. :(
