Traquair Fair
Yesterday we went to Traquair Fair in the wonderful grounds of Traquair House in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders, about an hour's bus journey away from Edinburgh. There was a very varied selection of music, outdoor theatre, loads of stalls and plenty of refreshments, including (from the Rokpa Trust's tent) Tibetan Momos (vegetarian stuffed doughnuts, my new favourite snack food!) and Traquair Fair ale brewed in Traquair House's own micobrewery. Unfortunately the weather wasn't really conducive to a big outdoor event, as it rained heavily for most of the day, except for about half an hour of sunshine, great weather for the swans though.

I am happy the rain did not spoil your fun.
Whenever I see a swan, I feel that I am glimpsing a mythical creature.
Oh, gorgeous! I need to write about lichens...they truly have a personality all their own! It reminds me of a place near my home, the Georgia State Botanical Gardens.
I suppose the fairs in that place are prepared for some rain .. people to, eh?

Too bad about the rain. Rokpa Trust looks great, they offer very reasonable rates for acupuncture and moxa. Like those swans, I saw black swans when I was in the UK, they were amazing in a different sort of a way.

We are fortunate to live nearby Traquair House and often stop to look at the amazing peacocks. Hope the rain didn't dampen your spirits.
Rain tends to... well you know. Glad you still had fun.
We discverd Tibetan food in Paris a couple of years back, lovely steamed bread. Hearty stuff though, for mountain people!
Sounds like fun! I've been joking about taking lichens in to be color matched for paint. :)
