Gorgie City Farm - Herb Garden

This is a wonderful little sensory herb garden tucked away in the middle of Gorgie City Farm, where I work. It smells beautiful and is a real suntrap! The photo was taken a couple of weeks ago, when we had some sunshine.....

I've seen some wondeful sensory gardens created for people with sensory problems. As so often though,we could all do with a little of what folk with special needs need much more.

We had some sunshine last week too!!! A daughter made us an Herb Chair. An old wooden table chair with burlap bags full of soil tied to the seat and the back. Cut little holes in the burlap and planted various herbs in the holes.

It is going on its second year and is really something .. and .. so fragrent with such a variety of smells, especially if I trim it a bit!

Beautiful. I love, love, love herb gardens! Everything I plant is herbs. Only this year, I tried lilies.
But herbs bring me the most pleasure. And I love when the cats come in smelling of lavender and basil. Mmmmm.
