haiku - earth and mud

mud cakes my boots
as I walk through the woods –
the first leaves open.

*************************
under my nails
and in the lines of my hands –
life giving soil.

*************************
white stone driveway
between neatly cut hedges –
one muddy footprint.

Earth, soil, mud for One Deep Breath

These poems, I can feel your call to Spring. The longing and yearning for green growth and the rich scent of life.

These are fanatastic! #1 & 3 really resonated with me. Great haiku.

CGP,
These are great. The first piece really grabs me. I like the explicit inclusion of the narrator.

I really enjoyed all three, but this one has a bit of smile in it. Only one footprint? :-)

Juliet,
I like all three!
The third is most striking, like an Ansel Adams photo.

I smiled when I read these - among others reasons because you notice the things I notice! :)

Three fine 'out and about' poems. I agree, they do all have a spring feeling.

I really like the images your poems bring to my mind, a muddy footprint, and boots caked with mud.
