hidden under fallen leaves -
a blackbird calls

Fabulous. I can see it so clearly.

Lovely. A bit naughty - I like that: the first two lines suggest some impending misfortune and the last just totally ignores it and goes off elsewhere. Delicious.

It does draw a nice picture!

Do those leaves bother the blackbird? I wonder. Is he calling you to clean them up, or calling friends to come play in them with him? I'll have to watch the blackbirds in my back yard to see.

I love watching them scratch midst the leaves for worms and insects. Wonderful image Juliet.

Moving from an artificially? serene image of the changing season, the image of a blackbird calling almost sounds ominous, warning of don't let prettiness fool you!

Interesting haiku!

I like this one, too, Juliet. The tension of the steps being hidden under the leaves, then the unexpected ending that directs you away from the first two lines. It makes you turn your head towards the blackbird. Thanks to you, I've been educating myself on the haiku so I don't sound totally ignorant on the subject :)

I loved this. So short, but really tells the story.
