Poachers and ridiculist human greed.

Most effective use of tanka as a way of commenting on the world beyond the personal, while expressing personal feeling.

It's a terrible thing and I was very upset when I found out. Your tanka is spot on - wonderful.

Horrible.

So glad you wrote a poem for this, though----in memory, huh?

This might sound flippant, but have you seen "How to Train Your Dragon?" It's a very sweet (and yes, happy) movie, but it does remind us to take care of the creatures around us, to realize their value and meaning.

Fine juxtaposition of images/observations, Juliet. Powerful, poignant.
