park haiku

heavy rain -
the scent of lime trees
in the park.

The lime tree here is the European lime (Tilia Europoea) - you can find out more about it here.

Park for Theme Thursday - thanks Dianne for letting me know about this meme!

Don't think I've ever been to park with lime trees, but I can imagine it would be very fresh! Nice haiku.

Just lovely. I was thinking of the citrus trees as I read (and might have to stick with that as I don't know the other kind), and it was still lovely... :)

ooohhh...I want to be in a park that smells of lime trees...but sadly, they don't do well in my neck of the woods.

I enjoyed your Haiku. Great take on the theme! :)

Can't say that I've seen a lime tree. But an entire park of them would look and smell sweet.

Nice haiku - also love the choice of subject - lime trees are my favourites!

Lovely - makes me wish it was cooler over here so I could just fall asleep outside smelling trees and nature :)

As well to put the footnote - I mentioned lime trees once and American readers expressed surprise that citrus trees grew in Brittany!

Lovely atmosphere.
