Rainy Summer

There's no such thing
as bad weather
or so the Norwegians say
only the wrong clothes

But despite the trees'
green enjoyment
of constant rain
I long for something else

high blue windblown skies
sunshine warm on my skin
even a rainbow would do

I don't think I'm quite on the same wavelength with the Norwegians!

Laughing 'cause I'm longing for rain.

hello crafty green poet, well i share your sentiment. more balance in the form the weather takes would be really great but i'll add this little twist - if you love rain as much as sun (as i do) then it's actually not that bad!! the rest of my family wishes for sun, sun, and more sun by the way!! i hope you have a sunny day!!! steven

Dave - I think if you live in Norway you need to be on that wavelength....

Deb- oh I know, it seems to be extremes everywhere...

Elizabeth - no, where are they all?

Steven - I actually don't mind the rain, its just there's been so much of it.....

I echo that sentiment Juliet - you have sunshine, the clouds are all down here in Yorkshire at present.

Dear Juliet, well if it were only a matter of clothes...I agree with the end of your poem, maybe the Norwegians love irony in a way...

Thank you for the comment on "Mountains".

Oh yes Juliet! Let us all pray to the Sun God, your poem as a prayer?:) Dreadful summer and all that beautiful ---very wet green we cannot enjoy...

The glorious Ra does not like Scotland. Although this Canadian does mind the cooler weather...

Lovely. I love that I can feel the want. It makes it perfect.

Only when my drier broke
did I realise
I missed the sun

I miss the sun too when it's gone for very long. Nice poem. That last stanza is my favorite.

The poem is a rainbow, a smile in the end versus and an arching sky in the middle. Beautifully made, Juliet.
