Ladybirds

As I mentioned in a recent post, there seem to be a lot of ladybirds around this year. They're such a lovely bright design, I thought i would use them to practice glass painting (on reused plastic!). So above is the real life inspiration (click on it to make it bigger!), below is the finished piece, I may make it into a mobile, if I can make enough of them!

I think your ladybird (like the sound of that better than ladybug) turned out nicely. Nature lends a lot of inspiration to one, doesn't it? Have a great night.

I was thinking the other day that there is no downside to ladybirds. We have had quite a few this year too!!!

They are not here yet but they will be ... by the buckets. They can find their way into the house through double paned windows, I swear!

Hi Juliet

that would be lovely

For a while I used the ladybird as my personal little symbol...I found lots of stickers that I could adhere to letters, notes etc...they are so endearing and colourful...

Happy days

How beautiful. Your blog does my heart good this morning.

Thank you so much for your kindness. Dad is doing much better—but now there is an additional threat of pneumonia. Mom is very sore and bruised all over, but is better. Your kind words and thoughts are so precious to me and to my family. ((hugs))

Warmly,
Beth :o]

LOL I love polka-dots and when I was kid thought lady bugs were so lovely to be permanently dressed in them :)

Should make a great mobile.

It's strange where I am most contacted by ladybirds: at the seaside, on the stone causeways called "Murazzi" at the Lido of Venice. A quiet place for all those who don't love sandy beaches.
Ladybirds there land on me often and are never very willing to leave. They enjoy escapades propably from the grass fields behind.

"Polka-dotting" sunlight and time passing.

Thank you for your comment on "Snapshot".

I don't think I have seen one yet this year in my garden and I always garden as wildlife friendly as I can. Maybe they have all flown north this year! x

Ladybird! I like that word. Here, we call them ladybugs. They're really great little critters. I find them often in our garden. :)

I love ladybirds! Used to go around picking them up and walking around with them in my palms when I was young :D I don't see many around these days though. I think your ladybird artwork will look great as a mobile!

Hi
I'd like to see your ladybird mobile very much when you finish making it! What fun!
There are many seven-spotted ladybirds here. I seldom see two-spotted ones.

Your dragonfly haiku is really impressive. I like it very much!!

I love the ladybird, CGP. We have just come back from Scotland where we saw a lot at Tantallon Castle: what a great place!

Yes, do post a pic. of the mobile once it is complete.
