Silver envelope

I drink far too much tea and struggle to reuse all the metallic foil bags that most of my tea is wrapped in. I have used scraps of this material in cards (eg see this card) but that doesn't really use up that much of the stuff. However I recently discovered a great way to reuse the material, by making envelopes for greetings cards. The foil package is just the right size for a fairly small greetings card, I cut off the ends of the packet, glue one end down and leave the other as an envelope flap. Address labels can be glued or taped on the front.

Silver for Inspire Me Thursday

Excellent article on reuse on the new Ooffoo website here.

I think US tea bags are packaged differently but I'm trying to figure out something to do with foil coffee bags. The material is great.
I love your new header. All those snowdrops. Is that from this year? We're at least a month away from snowdrops. It is currently snowing.

Are you working on your own book about living green? why not?

I love this tip about using the foil for an envelope. My tea comes in paper wraps - I'm gonna go look at 'em and see if there's something I can do with them.

BTW, love the tulips. Where?

Wonderful idea. I agree with Oh about the book. Your green ideas would make an awesome book. Add your poems to it, too. I'll buy a copy!

Beautiful header, too. I love reading your blog, but it's also a visual treat.

I immediately recognized the foil of course :) The tea I buy is either loose or in bags, but the bags are in paper envelopes so they go straight to the paper container, while the teabags into the compost bin.
The loose tea comes in cellophane bags - so annoying! When I was in Germany there was an extra container for plastic foil, but here...what to do with it?
