Well put Juliet! Excellent take on the plight of the world. Wonder how many will catch the meaning of your brilliant last 2 lines...

Poetic eloquence, Juliet

Escapism into poetry happens with me..and thats when I breathe "my life". Poetry is a kind of lifeline when all else seem to go haywire..

wishes,
devika

Just read "Chin Up" at Breathing Poetry!

Simple joyous poem. Did you actually go through that flood experience?

Around here we will probably raise the dike levels, give up on salmon, and get better sun tans!

About sustainable. Way down on the southern coast of Oregon, things are pretty poor, fishing and loggin being about played out. Some years ago a guy came in and built a big fancy golf course .. actually a Scottish style "links" course called "Bandon Dunes". The income to those locals, from the people who come from all over the world, now allows them to prosper and practice much more suatainable living practices.

It's similar here with the Native Indians and casinos. Prior to the allowing of casinos on tribal land, all the little bands were very poor and lousy stewards of the resources, lands and wtars, and fish. Now, with the wealth from the casinos, they are leaders in stewardsship and the need to recover our resources and live sustainably. Always seems like a bit of a conundrum to me.

I agree with Janice - it reminded me of global warming too.

How fitting, Juliet. With so much flooding going on everywhere...

I would like to present you with a well deserved award. The Lemonade Award, once I get it posted on my own blog, with the rules.

It's great way to bring others to your blog...

Good to catch up.

rabbits guy - like you say sensitive developments can have a huge beneficial effect on local communities, including stimulating sustainable lifestyles. However Scotland doesn't need yet another golf course, the area for the Trump development is a legally protected example of a rare habitat/landscape type and Trump has blatantly ignored advice on how he could create a golf course development with much less environmental impact.
