juliet, i love the idea of high-speed birdwatching. but i need to do my homework first though, i can only identify very few birds. :)

I like "fieldguide clear" and also the whole ideaof birdwatching from the train.
Everything else is high speed, why not birdwatching? Fantastic. Your buzzards seem different that ours, ours seem to be carrion oriented, feasting on unfortunate desert travelers......

Oh, these are absolutely beautiful!! My favorite is the pheasant in the beech leaves. What an astounding image. I also love the beauty of the buzzard here, as too often, they are identified with "ugliness" or death. What a gorgeous twist. The winter thrushes are awesome, too. Excellent work!

I really like the first one - there is something clever about the way the word 'thrushes' almost sounds like the noise the leaves might make.
