Autumn Leaves

The trees have been playing with paints again:
Birch waves yellow hands
against crisp blue sky.
Beech burnishes her copper tresses.
Rowan glows fruitfully red, yellow, pink.

I also posted a recent photo of autumn colour here.

Nice visual to the words.-I like the way the header for your blog looks with it being all tree.

Those autumn leaves at the top of your blog will keep me going all winter - they are beautiful, as is the poem.

There's true craft in this blog, the green turning to copper after the bright rust-red...
Now let's go slowly, very slowly, towards the end of the year savouring each step before meeting...the laughing Green Knight's battle axe!

Pleased to meet (tweet?) you! I notice you share my favorite books--very exciting!

That first line just stopped me in my tracks... so eloquent and such delightful image!

The rest of the poem is lovely but if I'm honest the copper tresses seemed a bit "grown up" to fit with the exuberant playground explosion of colour that the first two lines conjured up for me. Great work though...

I always used to love walking down by the Water of Leith in an Edinburgh winter... such beautiful colours reflected in the water!
