Gorgie City Farm - sheep

Behind the main farm buildings of Gorgie City Farm is a steep hill where most of the sheep live, here are just a few of them, photographed the week before last, before the sheep were sheared.

Love the sheep, when I went to Scotland (years and years ago) I just couldn't get enough sheep to look at. Later one of the rabbit's vets told me her mother was a sort of world traveler and would go out of her way to take pictures of sheep. Gorgie Farm looks wonderful.

Thanks for the haibun tip, I didn't know about, but adore Basho.

They are very cute, and I sure hope they get sheared before the heat sets in!

Sheep are such lovely animals. A dear friend of mine had a pet merino for many years which she raised from a little lamb. She resisted the urge to sell him for his entire life. He was spoiled rotten but very lovable.
