Watch this Video

Thanks to Rethabile for sending me this link. Everyone should watch this video: http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=bDsIFspVzfI. Even if its not for you, you probably know someone who would really benefit from it.

I have just sent that video to the Australian Prime Minister and to the Minister for the Environment. I can't let the worst case scenario happen. I would rather die first. Truly. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention.

Pish, sorry to be ungrateful but in the absence of any prior notice of what it contained, I watched the whole thing patiently, hoping to find something that wasn't already obvious. I suggest that "everyone" in your post was a massive overstatement.

Selma - thanks

Vincent you're right, but if I say what's in it, the people who should watch it are the most likely not to.

Vincent - plus if you don't need it for yourself there are almost certainly people you could pass this on to who would benefit. I'm trying to think of a wording to add to my post

Whether one believes in global warming or not the fact of the matter is that we as a human race leave a heavy imprint on this planet by destroying natural resources, polluting the air, poisoning the water etc etc. If this video strikes even one person to get curious and change their ways it will have been well worth it for in doing so he will have affected change in others too.

Can I stick my two bits in here? i know you won't mind. i really enjoyed the video, it was an idea that you sort of think you know but his explanation of the idea that was so neat and articulate and simple and persuasive, that i will remember that next time the question is raised, my only quibble would be at the end where he says all you have to do is spread the word, i think maybe, if you can, there is a bit more you can do than that, and I know you Juliet, are doing everything you can, so i thankyou for that too,

I enjoyed the video, its simplicity, and the argument. I'll pass it along. I'm sure my daughter who has been active in the battle against global warming will enjoy this too.

Janice says, "Whether one believes in global warming or not." I thought only George Bush didn't believe the planet was heating up dangerously. Who else doesn't know that?

After saying "Pish" to that video, I examined my instinctive reaction in this post.

It wasn't just the simplistic question of "can we believe what they say about what will happen, and what we should do about it?"

It was possibly more like "Why should we trust that those who lit the fire know how to put it out?"

There are profound questions that everyone should think about. What happens when we tinker with Nature? What is in harmony with Nature and what isn't? When Nature has been tinkered with, should we tinker with it a bit more, hoping to put it right? Is there a God who stands above Nature to whom we should trust for solutions to our sins, or indeed the definition of our sins? etc etc.

Anyhow it triggered debate. And I thank you for triggering that.
