Winter Sunrise, Edinburgh

A winter bus ride
along Princes Street
the castle backdropped
by the glow of sunrise
colours that deepen
and spread behind the Galleries
on the Mound; sparkle
the frost on Salisbury Crags
under a sky patchworked
by pink lace clouds

For some reason the first line and its indication of movement adds to the rhythm of the poem. Lovely.

It was a delight to follow the links to photos, even as lovely as your words are.

Sigh. What a bus ride!

I saw in an open-air bus and am so glad it wasn't winter.
