Ink

ink black sky -
branches sway across
the moon

*******************
wind
blows the branches
in the sky -
I fill my pen with ink
and stare at the empty page.

I know all about that moment of staring at the blank page. It's a relief when it passes. Beautifully written.

I really like the tanka - I'm sure many can relate.

both work very well for me... branches in the haiku as if they want to erase the moon and a moment many can relate to well captured in the tanka

This feels like night is filling you pen with ink...

I can relate to the empty page - sometimes nothing comes.

Yes, it happens like that! Nice parallels...

Ah to be like a tree reaching for the moon when it's time to write! These are wonderful.

Your poems make me feel the loneliness of writing, the desire for beauty. I love them so much. Our submission can be found here. Thank you for visiting.

I like the connection between the metaphorical in the first and the more down to earth blank page of the second.

I really like the first one. Thanks goodness there will still be avenue for our haiku efforts!!!

The first one is so strong. Its like the branches are trying to dip the sky to write on the moon.

These both are very evocative and indicative of one's creative process.

Staring is so tiring. I'm always so glad when something clicks.
