tanka - frost

From a frosty Christmas Day walk through Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh:

trees
glitter white
with frost -
greenfinches glow
like emeralds.

************************

frost glitters
on slippery pathways -
hand in hand
we feel safer
from falling.

A senryu on a different aspect of frost is on my Alter Ego blog.

Frost for One Deep Breath

Beautiful. Of course, it is all sunshine and 50s in Texas, but I can imagine . . .

Hi Crafty! The white and green in the first one creates a really beautiful image, and I also love the feeling of connection and support in the second one. Really nice frosty tankas!

I can see you walking hand in hand on the slippery pathways. Lovely. And greenfinches now they would be fun to see.

Your tanka is so colorful...it is so easy to imagine the greenfinches and the trees glittering with frost...absolutely lovely.
