First Christmas Cards of the Year

I've made my first Christmas cards for the year, three different robin cards! The background paper is patterned with stamps from Michelle Ward 's Green Pepper Press . The cards are made from old business folders, the robins are cut from Birdlife - the magazine of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

How lovely they are. I am utterly incapable of producing anything in the arts/crafts field......can't draw, paint, knit, sew, sculpt -- which is a source of great frustration to me and I'm in awe of anyone who can.

Thanks Jo, I can't knit either, or sculpt. My drawing, painting and sewing aren't up to much either, but I'm good with the scissors and glue!

Those are beautiful Crafty. My wife makes cards as you know. Never too early for the holidays.

OH my gosh how lovely!!! I want to try to make cards, but I just can't find the time... I can barely find the time to mail out regular ones!! I just love birds... birds and fish are so beautiful to me. I am envious of those on your receiving list ;) Can't wait to see more!!

Oh, these are beautiful! I love the complimentary colors and the wallpaper-flavor behind the birds.

I've been thinking of doing the postcard-poetry thing (see January or jillypoet) and making collages...to go with poetry.

You have reinspired me.

wow, i love the colour combinations. what a great idea -even though I can't do much right now I think I can handle a little collage.

Wow. those are stunning. I wish I had a talented friend who would send me such a card.
My father photographs his paintings (usually a winter scene for this purpose) and then sends them off in little card frames. Some of his friends have framed the photos and hung them up on their walls.
I did not inherit my father's talents, so I buy Christmas cards.

Oh, I love the idea of using old folders to make card. By "business" folders do you mean those card-stock manila folders with tabs? I just realized I have a bunch of purple ones...purple and silver ribbon would be a great combination...

Miss Meliss - I usually use conference folders, but the manilla ones with tabs could be used as well. Purple and silver sounds a great combination!
