Rainy Season haiku

no rain
in this 'rainy season' -
silent lightning

Inspired by my time in Malawi, where the rains failed in my second autumn.

Not good when rains fail ...

But this year 2024 has seen so much rain here in the UK.
I hope Malawi is seeing rain this year.

All the best Jan

What a beautifully poignant haiku! It captures the essence of anticipation mixed with disappointment so vividly. The contrast between the expected rain and the silent lightning adds a layer of depth, reflecting the complexities of nature and experience. Thank you for sharing this glimpse into your time in Malawi!

Wishing you a fantastic weekend! I'd love for you to check out my new post: https://www.melodyjacob.com/2024/10/my-visit-to-hunterian-art-gallery-in.html

HI Lowcarb, yes it's been very rainy here this year. The rainy season will just be starting in Malawi, hopefully it will be a good one.

Thanks Melody, for some reason your comments usually end up marked as spam...
