Spiders webs

Large spiders webs are a sign of autumn. it's not that the spiders aren't around earlier in the year, but that they get bigger throughout the year and so do their webs. So the early summer webs are often overlooked while the autumn webs are much more obvious, like this beautiful one in Colinton Dell today

it was beautifully warm and sunny today. The river is very low though, this is the view from Bog's Bridge

I did notice that the webs were getting bigger, and now I know why! I learn so much from your blog.

The webs are getting bigger, and hence I'm getting my face stuck in them more often as I'm rooting around looking for things *shivers*

Cool captures of the webs! I have walked into many webs on our outings, yuck. Have a happy day and new week ahead!

SUPERB spider's web photo, Juliet. We helped a large one outside last night, but thinking about it, the spider had probably chosen to head on indoors. Oh dear.

I didn't know that about spider webs... One of the things I remember about hiking the Appalachian Trail is that you know if you're the first out in the morning cause you'll supplement your breakfast with spider webs that have been laced across the trail at night.
