That old deja-vu feeling
-yes seen this before-
as dimensions uncurl
.............................shimmering
like the irridescence hiding in the black
of a magpie's wing.
Parallel universes unfurl
sudden ghostly images of other worlds
then fold back on themselves
secret and unseen

Like the r's and l's throughout, and the colour in the magpie black.
Did post about your book launch but it seems to have gone missing! Good luck launching your book on the Water of Leith (or did I read that wrong?!).
beautiful poem
thanks for sharing

You managed to pin down that ever-so-quick-then-gone flash of it all so well!!!
I love "multiverse."
Today my poem is about the Universe (well, the end of it).

I like this as is, but let me point out that the first stanza could stand very well on its own.
Love that image of the magpie's wings - it's pretty cool that :))

just a note to say "thanks" because you publishing your chapbook has inspired me to pursue same and wouldn't you know? It was a workshop stop at the writing conference I got to attend. I'm not a poet but am looking forward to putting together some things tonight that will go eventually (soon?) in a chapbook, even if I have to design the books myself and then make them. Which is pretty much what I want to do.
Always a breath of fresh air to stop here.
Cheers!

A grand verse... 'the images of other worlds'... 'folded on themselves!'

Lovely... irridescent / irridescence - my favourite words!
Absolutely beautiful concept and crafting. I can see that book that tied you up in knots is still working its magic!!

thestorialist - loved your poem too!
Bill - you may have a point...
Gordon - thanks for posting about my book launch, sorry the post went missing. The book will be launched at the Water of Leith Visitor Centre not actually on the river...
Oh - glad I inspired you! Good luck with your chapbook!
The cover photograph on your book is outstanding!
I don't always comment, but I am a fan. Bravo.
It's been a while since I stopped by your blog. And I'm glad I did. Absolutely lovely verse.
Oh, wow, I really like this a lot. That last part of the 1st stanza is wonderful. The secret's of nature that aren't so secret to those who chose to see.
Lovely! "iridescence hiding" image was terrific, so rich, then launching the idea, just like a wing.
Have a great time tomorrow!
