haiku - change

leaves turn red -
a squirrel gathers
nuts.

******************

leaves fall -
geese fly south
in skeins.

*****************

robin sings
a different song -
bare branches

These all three are vivid images. The third is simply perfect. I really like the skeins.

I like the one about the geese, the one about the robins, and the one about the leaves!

Particularly like this one:

leaves fall -
geese fly south
in skeins.

Love that "skeins," as if they are unknitting the season (or knitting the new one? :-D).

The third is cool, too.

Indicative, evocative haiku. Strange - I wrote skein of geese on my work sheet last week. Great minds? Cosmic thought? Grin. Good post!

your dexterity at weaving words together leaves me wordless.

Do I need to add, it is brilliantly written?

Hi Crafty! Beautiful imagery and wonderful sense of autumn's changes. Lots of life and sensitivity in these, too. I like the squirrel and the birds as they interact with nature's transitions.

That is beautiful. Just what I needed to hear today. I say 'hear' because I tend to read poetry aloud, especially haiku, you get the musicality of it much more that way!
