Trees Budding and Flowering

Many trees are budding and flowering just now. Yesterday in North Merchiston Cemetery, I noticed these pussy willow catkins

While the flowers on the elm trees are starting to open, this is from one tree

and this elm tree is further along in its flowering

And today on Corstorphine HIll, the gorse looks beautiful

Your photos are inspiring! It's always fun to see those pussy willow catkins announcing that spring is on its way!

Hi Rabbits Guy - well gorse is native here so we like it, I know it's problematic in places where its not native

Lee - thanks!

So lovely to see the 'pussy willows' emerging, CGP. A sure sign that spring is on the way, even though it feels bitterly cold here again today.
