The River Tyne through Haddington

On Sunday we visited the town of Haddington in East Lothian with my Dad who was spending the weekend with us. Haddington is a lovely place, you can see some photos of the town on my Shapeshifting Green blog here.

The River Tyne (not the same one as flows through Newcastle) runs through Haddington. Sunday was beautifully sunny and we enjoyed a short wander along the river

I was interested to see these statues of goats in Haddington Town

Goats feature on the town crest as well but I'm not sure what the deeper connection is between Haddington and goats, so if you know, please feel free to let me know in the comments! Edited to add: Thanks Caroline for pointing out this link about the Haddington Goats.

It seems, Juliet, as though you are not the only one puzzled by the goat...
