Snow
Well the so called 'Beast from the East' storm has arrived in Edinburgh, bringing high winds and blizzards.
These photos are from Crafty Green Boyfriend who works just near Corstorphine HIll and walks round the hill most lunchtimes! He takes birdfood with him to leave on walls and logs at the top of the hill (where several other people do the same). He took extra food yesterday and attracted blackbirds

Gorse flowers in the snow! A very fine thing. We've had a flurry on our red Camelias in Cornwall! Birds here, Blackbirds, Dunnocks and A Blackcap grateful for the fat balls!
I just saw a friend's photo of the River Kelvin freezing over, and thought of you. It's certainly good that some are leaving food for the birds, including Crafty Green Boyfriend. Things have moderated here now, but during our ice and cold, I did the same -- and the birdies did appreciate it!
wow, can't imagine that sort of cold - living as I do in the sub-tropics of Australia
