Tree Following - guest larch

Many readers of this blog will know I'm following a larch tree in Colinton Dell, along the Water of Leith for Tree Following. At the weekend we visited Dalkeith Country Park and I took photos of a larch tree there, which had a lot more flowers easily photographable than the tree I'm following.

Even though the flowers have lost their colour they're still beautiful. You can see the flowers at their most colourful in this post.

I love this larch tree. What are those things on it? They look similar to pine cones!

Had i not read what you said i would think they were some kind of orchids growing on the trees

Much love...

What a beauty! Here in the north, our larches still look like dead twigs.

Great to find all your tree posts listed in one place on L&L! Isn't it strange to think of cones as flowers?

Hi Caroline, I'm fascinated by watching the process of flower becoming cone....

Such pretty colours! I mistook flowers on a Christmas Tree kept in a pot for growing cones once. Interesting how similar they are.
