Hawthorns, cuckoo flowers and Ducklings!

these are quite old mallard ducklings, there were a couple of tiny ones too, but they sped past too quickly for my camera!

the hawthorn flowers are starting to come out, the whole towpath smells of hawthorn!

I love those adorable ducklings! I don't think I've seen any yet this year, but I enjoyed seeing a nesting Moorhen yesterday.

Mallards are the most common duck in our area. They're such fun to watch.

Excellent, Bill, thanks!

Ms Sparrow, the young are certainly fun to watch, less so a group of five males jumping on a female and trying to drown her,

Caroline - these were my first ducklings of the year! I've not seen young moorhens yet,

Heavy hedonist - bunnies!

Ashok - thanks!

Lady Smock reminds me of growing up on The Mendips where there was an abundance of them in one particular place above Cheddar Gorge. The fresh smell of a Spring the hawthorn. Lovely scent.

Love the fluffies! I see some mallards around here from time to time, but never at a time when I can take pictures (and there's almost never any fluffy little ducklings with them).
